Does Eating Soy Promote Weight Loss?
Early research from University of Illinois suggests that soy proteins contain substances that may help to signal a feeling of fullness and also boost the metabolism, aiding in weight loss.
While more studies need to be done, it can't hurt to include soy products in your family meals. Some tips for including soy:
- Sprinkle soy nuts on cereal, salad or yogurt
- Substitute soy crumbles for ground beef in chili, spaghetti, sloppy Joes or lasagna
- Pour soy milk on cereal or use in a fresh fruit smoothie
- Make a tofu dip by mashing tofu, adding dry ranch seasoning and garlic powder. Use for dipping cut up veggies-yum!
